La Cuisine:

If you are interested in eating healthy, La Cuisine is the place for you. It has a variety of vegan and vegetarian options and features a meal of the day both for consumers of animal products and non-consumers. It is open from 8 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Saturday and it also sells a bunch of different health products and ingredients in case you are looking for those. Just be aware it can be a little pricey if you are on a budget.

 

Crossing 10th avenue, about half a block east after La Cuisine is a place that sells juices freshly squeezed in the morning, it is only open during the daytime, Monday through Saturday and you will recognize from the murals of fruit it has. On google maps it appears as Casa Wok, but it sells juices not Chinese food.

 

This taqueria always has a line up and that means everything. You will find one of the best and cheap pastor tacos on the island. They open everyday, just at night from 5:00 PM - 12:00 PM. 

 

A food truck between 10th and 15th avenue, it sells gourmet Paninis and Sandwiches created by chef Johnnie, it is open in the morning from 8 AM to 12 PM for breakfast and 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM for dinner, Tue - Sun, on Sundays during the morning hours they have their specialty the Kastakan Panini, which is a Panini filled with Kastakan meat, which is pork meat fried with pork skin, it is really good.

 

If you are looking for something that has the 3 Mexican Bs, bueno (good), bonito (nice) and barato (cheap) this is the place, around few blocks from the hostel. Nando ́s has been open for almost 30 years and has some of the best hot dogs in Cozumel. It also has hamburgers. Open everyday from 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM. 

  

In the 17th street you will find Torino’s Pizza, which has been voted one of the best pizzas on the island. They also have some pastas and salads, it is a little bit pricey but worth it. Open Tue - Sun 3:30 PM - 10:30 PM.

 

It is a steakhouse that also serves hamburgers and sirloin tacos and has some great salsas. Also it is a little pricey. Open Tue - Sun from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. 

 

If you want some buffalo or BBQ wings these are the best wings close to the hostel. Located on the 45 avenida on street 11th they have a wide variety of sauces they make on site which accompany the wings and they also have burgers and fries. Open Tue - Sat from 6:00 PM - 11:45 PM

  

If you are looking for a burrito these are the best near the hostel. Their specialty is their namesake and has delicious arrachera and shrimp plus some really good salsas. They also have a place downtown. Open Mon - Sat, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. 

  

These are Burgers Mexican style, charbroiled with a little spice in them. Another place with the three Mexican Bs (bueno, bonito y barato or good, nice, and cheap). If you have a sensitive stomach just beware, they can be a little heavy. Open everyday from 6:30 PM - 12:00 AM. No fries, but instead charcoal chambray onions on the side.

  

It has all the classics, Pastor, Bistec and Chuleta in addition to other dishes and homemade salsas. Open from Wed- Mon from 5:30 PM - 12:00 AM 

  

If you are looking for something sweet Ki ́Ch’Ujuk is the place, they have a wide variety of crepes and frapes and they are 5 min from the hostel. Open Mon-Sat from 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 

 

Traditional regional breakfasts, Tamarindo’s is a local favorite and one of the places with the best cochinita (Pork marinated in a diverse set of spices and ingredients) in town and on Saturday it has Lechon (baby pork marinated in another set of spices and ingredients) with special service from Chef Abelardo. Open Thu - Tue from 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

 

Chinese food at 5 min from the hostel. Your food is made when you order so it will be hot and fresh unlike other Chinese food places nearby. Open Mon - Sat from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. 

 

The second closest taco place to the hostel, around the corner in front of the Oxo, nice little family run place, it also has burritos and delicious tortas. Open Tue-Sun from 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM 

 

This is one of the best sushi places. You will be charmed by the little garden. They also have other options than sushi. Open everyday, except Tuesday, from 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM 

 

Rotisserie chicken Sinaloa (northern state of Mexico) style, really good chicken that is great if you want something to fill you up on the cheap, it includes tortillas, salsa, rice, and onions for a full meal. Open Mon-Sun from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. 

 

The Best place in Cozumel for pasta, bread, coffee, and anything gourmet. Every week they have different specials. Some clients have called them culinary artists. Open everyday from 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM. Also serve breakfast and have a rooftop dining area, reservations are suggested for dinner time!

 

Fried chicken place with great spicy chicken burgers with buffalo and chipotle sauces. A little pricey but well worth it. Also has some great fries and milkshakes. Open Tue-Sun from 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 

 

This is the favorite taco place of the locals here on Cozumel, so beware might take some time to get your food but the wait is worth it. It also has delicious pizza made with the pastor's meat. Beware if you have a sensitive stomach might not be the place. Open Thu-Tue from 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM. 

 

This place serves typical Mexican food from the center of the country, mainly Quesadillas and Huaraches. They have a wide variety of options and locals love it. Open everyday of the week from 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM, sometimes it is also open for breakfast from 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

 

This is a taco place with an international flavor, many traditional Lebanese- Arab dishes and snacks and a complete set of salsas. If you are vegan or vegetarian, they have some options like falafel and humas on the menu. Open Mon-Sat from 11:00 AM - 10:30 PM. 

 

This is one of our favorites. Whole food vegan restaurant and bar presenting a mix of raw food, fresh salads and sandwiches with a focus on flavor. Ambiance is just right for a drink, a laugh and a meal. The desert are amazing. Open Wed-Sun from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM. 

Definitely one of the best meat on the island in quality, softness, marbling and flavor. The wine list is small, but with quality. They have very nice dishes to share for 2 or 4 people. Open Mon-Sat from 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 

 

If you want a unique dining experience, Kondesa is the place. Understated from the outside, but an oasis awaits you inside. Wonderful and creative cocktails in a moonlit jungle-like setting. The dishes are flavorful and perfectly prepared. This place is a gem! Open Mon-Sun from 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 

 

Same as Chilangos Restaurant, la Candela is one of the best Mexican comfort foods. A soup, a main dish with fresh juice served in a pretty garden with a simple traditional ambiance. This place is one of the best gems of Cozumel. Open Mon-Sat from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

  

My number one restaurant.

They don’t take reservations, so plan a few minutes to wait because it’s always full. Do not stop at the entrance, cross the restaurant to go to the interior garden, you will be charmed. Everything is good, but the lasagna and the pizza are delicious. Open everyday from 2:00 PM - 23:00 PM except Sun - Wed 2:00 PM - 22:00 PM. 

 

This place have everything you need ! Its like a mix with a coffee shop, a playful pub with board games, karaoke in the night, tables of baby-foot, pool and ping pong, and on top arcade video game. They have a good menu and not to expensive. Dj playing at night with a nice vibe. Highly recommended ! Open everyday.

  

This place is an absolute must if you are in Cozumel. Everything from the smoked tuna to the blackened skirt steak and Cozumel grilled fish are all fantastic. Everything taste fresh and seasone perfectly. Service is excellent, great ambience. Don’t miss out on this spot! Open everyday from 2:00 PM - 1:00 AM à

  

Very nice place by the sea. They have good dishes at affordable prices, a nice atmosphere, several small private lounge areas. Good music and DJ in the evening. This is one of Cozumel's most popular party spots. Open everyday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 AM. 

 

Magnificent restaurant with a superb view at day and at night. Beautiful sunset view on the terrasse. They have good wine list, succulent drinks, the dishes are really good and fresh. The service is excellent, one of the best in Cozumel. You can’t go wrong with Buccanos. Open Tue - Sat from 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM - 5:45 PM. 

 

This is a great local seafood place nearby that has amazing ceviche and the essential traditional Cozumelenos food, Pimitos (seafood on a fried tortilla with beans and onion) They are open everyday from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM. This place is hidden. You must look for the below arrow painted at the entrance of the passageway. 

 

Three blocks away from the hostel, this is one of the best places to have breakfast on the island, situated in a beautiful garden surrounded by the owner of Addy's art . It also has live music on the weekends. Don ́t forget to try their specialties, the Huevos Motuleños and the Pan de Queso Bola. Open everyday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 

 

Who would think that in the Caribbean you can find excellent Indian food, well it is true. Bombay Delights is at the end of our street Calle 7 just a block from the waterfront and has a diverse set of dishes from all over India. Open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.   

 

Also located at the end of our street (Calle 7) about half a block from the waterfront, Benji Sushi is sushi with a Mexican twist. You will find a diverse set of fusion sushi and the staples of Japanese cuisine like Ramens and Gohans. Open everyday from 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM. 

 

In México we have the tradition of the meal of the day, normally it is a soup and then a main dish with some rice, beans and salad accompanied with a fresh natural agua, Chilangos restaurant is the place to experience this tradition. It has been a family run restaurant for almost 30 years and is a staple for most locals. You eat in the family's living room and order from a black board menu. This home cooking restaurant has really accessible prices for the amount and quality of food you get. Open Mon - Sat from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM 

 

Same deal as Chilangos and Candela, food of the day made by a family that has existed on this island for almost 30 years. Don't ́t forget to try their specialty Pechuga Rellena, which is a cordon blue chicken in a delicious coconut sauce. Open Mon - Sat from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

 

Wonderful place to enjoy delicious traditional Mexican breakfast and lunches. They also have some great natural freshly made combo juices that come in a beautiful Caribbean presentation. Just note it can be a little pricey. Open everyday from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. 

 

Great little coffee shop with some delicious Paninis and traditional Mexican sweet breads, it has a beautiful little garden and a lovely staff. Open Mon - Sat from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays. 

 

Here you will find some of the best burgers in Cozumel with a wide variety of options that have themes of distinct parts of the world. Open Wed - Sun from 1:00 PM - 12:00 AM.

 

Henry’s is a great place to have some burgers or traditional Mexican dishes in a 1950ish setting, chef Henry is a great host, and he also makes a meal of the day that is always delicious. Open Mon - Sat from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM 

  

The closest place to enjoy delicious Cozumel style seafood tacos and tortas (Shrimp, Fish or Octopus with some mayo, onion, and beans) It also has other seafood dishes if tacos and tortas are not your thing. Open Thu - Tue from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

 

Freshly made juices made by a great host and bodybuilder known as Nacho Crazy Boy, just mention to him what you got a feel for or if you need the juice for a specific reason (detox, tiredness, stress, or the like) and Nacho is going to produce something great. Open Mon- Sat from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM and from 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM.

 

A simple local run store really close to the hostel that also sells some of the most delicious ham, chicken and asada tortas and natural juices on the island that are local favorites, if you are looking for something quick and cheap definitely the place to stop by before starting your day. Get their early because they run out fast. Open everyday from 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
